Here at Build It, we’re always looking for new ways to ensure we’re providing self builders and home improvers with the very best advice and ideas – whether that’s in the magazine, online, or at our live shows. And what better way could there be to do that, than to build our own home?

Build It’s Self Build Education House is a pioneering real-life project, designed to give visitors a unique insight into the process of self building a house. Our Education House is located on Graven Hill in Bicester, Oxfordshire – the UK’s largest self build scheme with over 1,000 plots.

Open to the public, the house is essentially a show home that highlights in detail all the elements that went into making the property, from the roof tiles to the windows. Anyone who steps inside will leave inspired, clued-up and with all the information they need to undertake a similar project of their own.
